The most recent person to be arrested in connection with the shooting of Oliver Ivanovic was his former party administrator, Silvana Arsovic, who was detained on Monday and is being held in custody for 48 hours.
Before Arsovic, Kosovo police special forces on November 23 arrested three other people allegedly connected to the murder in January this year.
Four months earlier, police in Pristina arrested a Montenegrin citizen and a member of the Partizan Belgrade fan club, which is known for its connections with criminals.
They were initially held in connection with a gangland killing, but media later reported that they were also questioned as part of the Ivanovic investigation, although the prosecutor’s office neither confirmed nor denied this information.
However, one suspect still remains out of reach of the Kosovo authorities – Milan Radoicic, a businessman and politician who was described by Ivanovic, shortly before he was shot, as the real powerbroker in the mostly-Serb region of northern Kosovo.
Silvana Arsovic
Arsovic, a former administrator at Oliver Ivanovic’s office, where he was shot, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of manipulating its security cameras.
“She [Silvana Arsovic] was an official at the office of Oliver Ivanovic, and was paid as an administrator. Our suspicions are that she manipulated the security cameras,” a Kosovo prosecutor investigating Ivanovic’s murder, Syle Hoxha, told BIRN.
Arsovic was remanded in custody for 48 hours but Hoxha said he would not request her detention for any longer.
Dragisa Markovic
Markovic, a member of the Kosovo police force, was arrested on November 23 during the operation by Kosovo police special forces.
He had previously been arrested on February 10 on suspicion that he manipulated evidence at the scene of Ivanovic’s murder in January.
Markovic was arrested in February together with another police officer, but one day later they were released.
“These two officers were on duty watching the crime scene and did not perform their duties as they should,” Njazi Rexha, another Kosovo prosecutor investigating the Ivanovic case, told BIRN.
