A land swap between Kosovo and Serbia is just one idea of many that might be discussed during the ongoing dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, but in the meantime the government in Kosovo would rather focus on convincing five European Union member states to recognise its independence, Kosovo’s Foreign Minister and First Deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli told BIRN in an interview.
“Under the comprehensive international agreement legally binding for the Republic of Kosovo and for Serbia, other ideas – in fact, many ideas – might appear,” Pacolli said.
Pacolli, a wealthy businessman who briefly served as Kosovo’s president from February to April 2011, was one of the signatories of the 2008 declaration of independence and, before that, one of the strategists behind the lobbying movement struggling to get US support for Kosovo’s independence.
