WHERE DOES THE ROYAL FAMILY LIVE? SEE ALL THE PALACES AND ESTATES THE ROYALS CALL HOME

It’s a well-known fact that the Queen of England lives in Buckingham Palace, but where does the rest of her family live? While most members of the royal family maintain several residences—one of the perks of being royal—these are the castles, palaces and royal estates each call home most of the time.

Buckingham Palace is the Queen’s working residence during the week when she and the Duke of Edinburgh are based in London. However, they go to Windsor Castle most weekends, spend each August and September at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, and head off to Sandringham House in Norfolk every Christmas.

In 2003, The Prince of Wales made his official London residence Clarence House, which is where the Queen’s Mother lived from 1953 until her death in 2002. Prince William and Prince Harry also lived here until setting up their own private residences at Kensington Palace in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

Before that, they spent most of their time at Anmer Hall in Norfolk on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate.
