“I have not decided yet, but I’m thinking about leaving the army,” a young professional soldier in Bosnia’s Armed Forces told BIRN.
Declining to give his name, he complained about the tiny salary, poor conditions in the army and the even worse living standards in the country generally.
Other members of Bosnia’s armed forces interviewed by BIRN in different parts of the country repeated those complaints.
The salary is an especially sore point.
