THE 10 MOST LIVABLE CITIES IN THE WORLD

Vienna has been named the world’s most livable city for the ninth year in a row. In Mercer’s 20th annual Quality of Living survey, the Austrian capital dominated, followed by Zurich, Auckland and Munich in joint third place, and Vancouver in fifth. The survey evaluates 39 factors including crime, healthcare, schools and education, housing, and public services and transportation. Scroll down to see the rest of the top 10.

The top-ranked city provides its residents with “high security, well-structured public transportation, and a variety of cultural and recreation facilities,” Mercer explained in a press release.

The Swiss city was also recently named the third most expensive city in the world.
