Lewis Hamilton has been accused of criticising his ex-girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger when talking to new girlfriends, amid claims that the Formula 1 driver regularly flies off the handle at trivial incidents. Model Veronica Valle, who was close to Hamilton between 2015 and 2017, made the sensational accusation that Hamilton ‘called [Scherzinger] all the names under the sun’, in a new interview in which she also admitted that Hamilton did want to marry the pop star but was not ready for marriage. ‘He told me the reason they split up was because she wanted to get married. He wasn’t ready,’ she said. ‘I think she thought he was going to propose. He didn’t and she got mad.’ Hamilton and Scherzinger ended their romance for good in 2015 after eight years together on and off.
However Valle, speaking to The Sun, also claimed that Hamilton was scathing when it came to Scherzinger’s abilities in he recording studio, and that he believed he was better than her; Scherzinger has been nominated for Grammy and Brit awards, and a Laurence Olivier award for her time on the West End in Cats. ‘He said he comes in and writes his own music – but she only had someone hand her a piece of paper and say, “Sing this”,’ claimed Valle. ‘He said, “She used to come in here and criticise me”. He called her all the names under the sun.’
Valle first met Hamilton in 2015 when he contacted her on Instagram; they dated for several months but it fizzled out however they continued to see each other every August when Hamilton was in Barbados. She admitted that when they first met he was ‘very sweet’ but she soon learned of his bizarre behaviour and demands – including that no one could use his toilets for certain activities. ‘We were on the way to New York and Lewis went crazy after he found out that the pilot had pooped in the toilet,’ she said. ‘He was going to fire the pilot! He said, “Everybody knows that they shouldn’t take a s*** on my plane”. He was really mad.’
